Wyoming West Designs and the National High School Rodeo Association has entered into an agreement effective January 2010 whereby Wyoming West Designs is recognized as the "official logo apparel and souvenir products sponsor" of the NHSRA.  Wyoming West Designs is introducing a new line of logo merchandise for both men and women bearing the NHSRA logo, and the merchandise will be co branded with Cowboy Up and Cowgirl Up®. The initial offering of the line will include items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, etc.
This program continues Wyo West Designs quest to raise moneys for the NHSRA Cowboy Up (registered trademark) Crisis Fund.  Over the past few years, some $40,000 plus dollars have been raised with the support of our retailers for the foundation by selling wristbands.  Wyo West Designs is making the donations to the foundation from the proceeds of its sale of the NHSRA merchandise.
For more info and donations contact crisisfund@NHSRA.org or for a catalog of NHSRA Cowboy Up Crisis Fund merchandise contact www.cowboytzz.com.
Check with your local retailers to find the new line of clothing.  This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to assist and raise substantial moneys for the foundation.

To All WHSRA Judges and Board members:
The 2010 WHSRA Judging Seminar is scheduled to be held in Casper WY. at the college AG Classroom March 13th & 14th beginning at 8:30 AM.  Please try to attend as there are some very important new changes that I would like to discuss with everyone.  With new actions taken by the board at the June meeting, all judges must attend a seminar every 2 years to remain on the list.  There is no cost to you to attend, just bring yourself, an open mind, you field flag, stopwatch, pencils & paper, I will provide the in depth discussion and FUN. Thank you for your past contributions, they have been appreciated.  Please let me know if you plan to attend, see you there.
Thanks,
Bruce Keller

A big thank you to Jennifer Bonham for excepting the WYHSRA secretary position!

Wyoming High School Rodeo Members
WHSRA Fundraising Calendar Project
At the WHSRA State Board meeting following the State Finals in June, it was voted to again have the calendar sales mandatory for all members of the association.  I worked with The Rodeo News this year to give the calendars a little bit of a new look and I think they should be very easy to sell.  Each member will receive 5 calendars to be sold for $20 each.  As you sell your calendars, you will need to return the stub with the buyers and your name on it to me, and then you and the buyer will both be entered in our money drawings which will start in April.  When the winner is drawn, the person who sold the calendar will also receive the same amount of money.  The more calendars you sell the more chances you have at winning!  Top sellers will have a choice of prizes which may include $500, a registered quarter horse, chaps and tickets to the NFR.  Let me know any time that you need extra calendars and I will get them to you asap.

The project in 2008-2009 was very successful with the money from the project being split 20% to the student general fund, 20% to the scholarship fund and 60% for travel money.  The money from the general fund was used to host activities at the State Finals last year.  The Cowboy Prom dance, Movie Night, Karaoke and the Hoe Down were free to all contestants.  There was also a Dodge Ball Tournament that was hosted using the money from the general fund.  This next year we are working on having activities throughout the year as well as at the State Finals.

The money that went into the Scholarship Fund was used to award scholarships to the graduating seniors who took part in the Scholarship interviews that took place at State.  There was over $5000 dollars awarded to these members.

The travel money was used to assist members who had qualified for the Nationals High School Finals as well as members who attended Silver State.  As you can see, the money from this project is used to help the student members in many different aspects.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.  Turn in your ticket stubs to the following address:  Raegen Scott, 3 Orin Way, Douglas, WY 82633.  You may also give them to me at any rodeo.  If you are not planning on attending any fall rodeos, please get in touch with me I will send your calendars to you.

Sincerely,
Raegen Scott
